The Greatest Blessing Of All

"The greatest blessing and the peak of all blessings is to be able to see Allah subhanu wa ta'ala in Jannah."
- a gem from last Friday night's claass
So, I remind and invite myself first, and all of you blessed readers, to embark on this path of striving towards mardhatillah(pleasure of Allah). We all want to see our Creator in Jannah, don't we?

InsyaAllah. O Allah, make us strong. Ameen.

Keep calm and thank Allah.

Just like how the title goes.

We Are More than Our Exterior

Bismillah.

Don't let yourself have the thought that this particular person doesn't look like someone who's gonna do this and do that. Doesn't look like someone who prays, goes for religious classes, wake up for Tahajjud prayers or reads the Quran at all. Never. Because you don't know. Just because we see a person's exterior for that one thing that seems to portray him or her in a light that's "better" than us, shouldn't, in any way, signal to us to make passing, unfair remarks and judgments like that. Should you find yourself beginning to have such thoughts, take a deep breath and let it go. Let it all go. Let your thoughts slip past the exterior of a person. Know that you know nothing. Remember that Allah subhanu wa ta'ala is the only One who knows, and knows best. Keep calm, smile and think positive. Always practice thinking well of others. Remember your 70 excuses to make for others. Care more about the kind heart that lies within instead.

Jaga diri, jaga hati. InsyaAllah.

Sisters, Hijab, struggles.

OH MUSLIMAH

"A sister wearing hijab might struggle with performing her salaah on time, a sister who never misses a salaah and prays fardh, sunnah and nafil might have trouble wearing hijab in public, a sister who wears a lot of make-up might have memorised juz amma and a sister who wears niqab might be struggling to learn to read Quran with tajweed.

Truth is we are all struggling with something o...r another, no body is perfect yet people seem to think a person who dresses a certain way or looks a certain way is more pious than another or should be…

Next time before we judge a book by it’s cover let us look at ourselves and remember only Allah know’s what someones intentions are and what is in a person’s heart.

Make du’a for your sisters struggling with an aspect of Islam, remember 70 excuses for your fellow Muslim, don’t judge and look down at them…for Allah might forgive their ignorance but not your arrogance."

Osem Osem Osem! (=Awesome)

May peace be upon you. My Malay-speaking readers, have a watch!
"Mencuit hati dan bermanfaat"

May it be of benefit insyaAllah.
Do share it around!

The 2 Most Important Ones

It would be a shame if were to devote ourselves to seeking the pleasure of Allah but not realize that the key to attaining His pleasure lies in pleasing our parents.
-Brother Fadhuli Taufek, from his article on Khutbah Reflections: Treating Our Parents with Respect and Good Manners ; read here

It is reported on the authority of 'Abdullah that the Apostle of Allah observed:
The best of' the deeds or deed is the (observance of) prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents. [Sahih Muslim]

Tonight

Tonight,
Let go of your sorrows, worries, uncertainties, insecurities
and filter them all from memory
Tonight,
Go to sleep with a grateful heart
for what He blessed you with
A heart full of certainty and faith that our hearts are in His care and control.

Allah swt is always taking care of us.

All praise be to Allah, our only God to which is He alone without any partners.

On Returning

Today I watched Bohsia 2: Jalan Kembali, a movie directed by Syamsul Yusof. Maybe I'm the last to catch it but nevermind.

These are the 2 main takeaways that I obtained from this movie, enlightening and a timely reminder alhamdulillah.

1) If you talk about size, then the size of our sins accumulated is probably a speck of dust compared to Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah.

We very often forget this but remember,
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." Surah az-Zumar: 53
         -Quran.com, Sahih International

Alhamdulillah, I came across this status update by bro Aiman Azlan. May it be a good guideline to follow insyaAllah.

"3 things on my mind right now:
1. Avoid sins to the best of your ability.
2. When you do commit a sin, be ashamed of it.
3. In shame, don't cripple yourself. Allah's Mercy is bigger than your sin. Let the shame be a motivating factor for you to change for the better. "

2) There's no way to go but to turn and return to Allah.

This world is crazy. This world, like me and you know it, is a messed up place. But this is also the very world that is temporary for us.This world is not our place. We are not created for this world. We don't belong here. We came from, belong to and will return to our one and only God, Allah swt.

We are creations of Him. And Allah, our Creator, also created death for us.

Thus on that note, I would like to share this video that a sister shared which insyaAllah will shed some light on the topic. I urge all of us to watch it, if you already have, watch it again. We can never have enough reminders.

May we benefit from it.

O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, please forgive us.
O Allah, all this while we have drowned in sinful slumber and neglected You, please save us and wake us up and grant us hidayah from You.
Ameen.

So this.

Beauty & Mischief

For the blue skies in the day
and the hues of red when the night breaks
I thank God for blessing with the gift of sight
If I let this pain drown me then I will probably never learn to appreciate
What He gave me He can also take
away
I probably cried because I never realised
The soul is worn and torn after falling the second time
Covered with dirt and dust
I know it yearns for something else
The waves could perhaps ease
the mischief and mayhem of it which never seems to be pleased
I hug this pillow to myself tight
Suppress and suppress
when will you do it right.
